Maine Security Deposit Regulations: Security Deposit Receipt
Maine Revised Statute § 6022 requires Maine Landlords to provide Tenants with a security deposit receipt within 30 days of receiving the deposit. The receipt must include:
- The date of the payment.
- The amount paid.
- The name of the Tenant for whom the payment is made.
- The period for which the payment is being made.
- A statement that the payment is made for the security deposit.
- The signature of the person receiving the security deposit.
- The printed name of the person receiving the deposit.
